Letting Go to Let Life In

Updated: Feb 26

I had to slow down so I could see I was heading in the wrong direction.

I had received another blueprint for how to move forward, but I needed to fully process it before taking any steps, and create space for more balance in my life.

Slowing down this time was not only forced onto me, but also pushed me to be more mindful of my personal care and creative expression.

Whenever I enter the space of surrender in "the slowing" of it all, and my energy begins to return, I only grow more appreciative of it. Inspiration flows in during those periods of rest, and I find myself looking forward to using the energy that's being returned to me.

But the path forward often times means making hard decisions - decisions that require me to trust harder and step deeper into alignment both personally and professionally.

It's in the creation, and sometimes force, of those slower moments that I've learned to say "no" where misalignment was clear, and to stop making excuses for others who couldn’t see or understand my value. It's there where I've also had to see and understand my own needs, and allow others who are eager to support me the space to meet them.

It's what transmutes a rare and unexpected bout of illness, into a quantum leap toward true alignment.

And I've also learned: you don’t have to do it all now. Or at all, just because you can - but you can...

Life is long, and rich with opportunity to experience all the things you want while being fully capable, present, and in love with each moment.

So don’t rush it. The tortoise wins in the end...

And then the question becomes: How can I spend my life making the most of every moment?

Trust the Process

When things don’t work out, it’s always for the best.

What’s meant for you will find its way. Solutions appear unexpectedly, and growth happens where there’s a will to be better in a situation.

I started creating new rules for myself. Not “don’ts,” but actionable “Dos,” and gave myself gentle structures that supported my growth. Trusting the timing not passively, but instead choosing to step fully into my life as it unfolds.

Presence is the Medicine

Being present, fully and unapologetically, became my greatest medicine.

I experienced this even deeper when I got sick for the first time in a long while.

I had been building momentum - journaling daily, processing my thoughts, gaining clarity around trust in my relationships, and allowing myself small freedoms I’d previously denied.

Then suddenly, my head began to spin and I surrendered to rest.

I was forced to asked for help, let go of control, and allow myself to receive care fully.

& I made conscious choices: to clean when I wanted, to rest when I needed, to let music carry me through any tougher moments - and brighten the otherwise mundane ones.

This deeper presence showed me new ways to meet myself with compassion, notice my own boundaries, and flow with what already was unfolding.

Less is More

Simplifying, slowing, and saying "no" created the space I needed to see more of my life with clarity.

"Less" is not about doing nothing - it’s about doing consciously, presently, and with intention.

Even simple moments - like allowing my husband to cook multiple dinners in a row, which I would normally do for the joy of it - became quiet lessons in trust, presence, and appreciation. I had to surrender that and other roles as I focused on healing, and let care come toward me instead of from me.

& that space revealed richness in every corner: inspiration, alignment, and deeper connection to my values, and loved ones.

I have so much to be grateful for.

Slower is Steady

Slowing down allows me to reflect, integrate, and step fully into alignment.

& it reveals lessons I would have missed if I had rushed like: the power of asking for help, the grace of receiving, and the joy of intentional action.

Steadiness is the key, not stagnation, but deliberate steadiness anchored in self-awareness.

Honoring All Needs

Becoming isn’t only about doing - it’s about honoring the body, mind, and soul.

Regulation and integration emerge when we care for ourselves, as fully as we care for our ambitions.

And when we ignore our needs they find creative ways to get our attention. This is what can create separation, but it's preventable when we tune in and tend to the language of our beings.

Rest is as essential, if not more so, than work.

Closing Reflection

Letting go isn’t giving up, it’s making space for the life you’ve been asking for. It’s trusting timing, embracing presence, slowing down, and honoring all needs.

What could you release today to create space for what you’ve asked for?

Where could slowing down, resting, and showing up fully transform the way your life unfolds?

Replace rules that hold you back with rules that move you forward.

Match your body, mind, and soul.

Stop waiting for someone else to save you.

Step into your own work, your own alignment, and your own dreams.

Sometimes, all you need to do is slow down enough to reimagine your life, and that reimagination is the beginning of becoming.
